"Spring Play to Be Performed April 2-4"
Sugar Grove – Waubonsee Community College’s Theatre
Department will present the original musical revue “On the Tilt-A-Whirl
of Love” at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 5; Friday, Nov. 6; and Saturday,
Nov. 7, in the Auditorium of the college’s Sugar Grove Campus, Route 47
at Waubonsee Drive.
Professor of Communications/Theatre Dr.
Maria Bakalis wrote and is directing the show, which likens love to an
amusement park, with the different rides representing the different
stages of a relationship. There are 16 musical numbers in the show,
most of which are popular songs from American musical theatre.

2393. Tickets will also be sold at the door for $5.
Students in
the cast include Tabita Badragan, Claire Bluestone, Ryan Roberts,
Matthew Schluntz, Joseph Velazquez, Nestor Ramos and Rosalia Portillo,
of Aurora; Timothy Lacey, of Plano; Kaye Lewis, of Batavia; Blake
Malley and Natalie McConnell, of Yorkville; Ian Murphy, of Sandwich;
Lindsey Rogers and Paul Armitage, of Paw Paw; Nicole Hambly, of Leland;
and James Colford, of Somonauk.
Tracy Adams, artistic director
and owner of DancEncounter, Ltd., choreographed the show, with adjunct
instructor Bill Nelson, of North Aurora, serving as musical director.
Peter Etheredge, of Yorkville, is the assistant director and sound
engineer for the production while Sean Ream, of Oswego, is the show’s
set director. Also helping with sets are Carlos Duarte and Pearl
Markowitz.
